Rarely do opossums present opportunities for photographs, but this one was amazing! It was slowly approaching me, as I stood perfectly still in the woods at Pingree Grove Forest Preserve in Pingree Grove IL. Closer and closer it came, all the while I was clicking that shutter! Eventually, I needed to back away slowly, and with the crunch of the fallen leaves beneath my feet, the opossum knew I was there, and turned and fled. WOW!
